The Fappening - A Life Lesson That Shouldn't Have Fappened

Well internet, after a whirlwind week of sudden exposure, I'm back in the saddle! And today was
actually a pretty interesting day.

Calm down internet, we'll get to all the naked celebrity talk in one second. First I have to give some back story so the whole conversation doesn't seem tawdry. And this post will be safe for work, don't worry. If you're looking for the nudie pics then you'll just have to work for it like I did.

Err...

So, my old drinking buddy Matt is back in town for the Labor Day weekend. And by drinking buddy I mean pizza buddy, because as many of you know I don't drink. Although, I have been known to enjoy a glass of wine every once in a while. Or a glass of win, if you ask my dear Rachel. But that's really not important right now, I'm honestly just trying to pad the article before I start talking about naked women.

Since Matt was in town we decided to get the gang together for one of our classic Sunday events. We used to do it every Sunday, and although the faces changed every once in a while, the activities remained largely the same. We would start the evening off with a little bit of Call of Duty, then get some pizza, and then enjoy some Simpsons/King of the Hill/It's Always Sunny while we ate. Once all food was consumed and we were regretting our decisions, we would go back to Call of Duty and establish our dominance in Black Ops. We choose Black Ops because of it's Pure mode, which is really the only way we could overcome our lack of skill in Call of Duty.

Well, I didn't feel like dragging the Xbox 360 out of my bedroom, so we decided to just get pizza and watch a couple of Simpsons episodes as the marathon comes to an end. It was an enjoyable evening for all.

While we were waiting for young Matthew to make it over to Blogzilla 1985 headquarters AKA my apartment, the rest of us sat on the couch discussing various topics of self interest. One friend had sent me a picture of Jennifer Lawrence in a swimsuit on Facebook for no other reason than it was Jennifer Lawrence in a bathing suit. As we discussed if we found her to be attractive or not, I went to TMZ on my phone and was honestly surprised to see a headline stating that Jennifer Lawrence had been hacked and nudes of her were plastered all over the internet.

How topical!

The Filthy Casual and Super Game Over Show BRING THE PAIN

With all of this talk about Gamestop closing and Sin City 2 bombing at the box office (wtf), it's easy for me to lose sight of some very important people who continue to do some very cool things. I guess I have one more thing to blame Gamestop for!

IN THE RED CORNER!

Kat continues her tireless crusade against dinosaurs, animals, people, and puzzles with new updates to her Tomb Raider "Let's Play!" series. There's an Obelisk, a Sanctuary, and a Mine for you to follow her into as she and Lara move closer to what I'm assuming is the Ark of the Covenant and face melting Nazi's.

And of course, you can catch up with her previous videos on her YouTube page, which is conveniently linked right here!

IN THE BLUE CORNER!

The hardest working boys in the business continue their mad schedule of gaming videos with a tasty assortment of classic and not so classic games.

Come marvel at forgotten treasures like Jackie Chan Action Kung Fu on NES, the original DOOM, Sonic Adventures 2, Megaman 9, and so many other titles that you'll wonder what the hell else they do with their free time!

And to check up with all of the other videos The Boys (TM) have been working on, check out their YouTube page! Where? Right here, you silly cacodemon!

Unexpected Attention and the Problem it Poses

I received quite the shock this morning when I got up.

My article, and I still hesitate to call it that, about Gamestop had received well over a hundred visitors since I posted it late last night. I was surprised, but also a little worried. This was not one of my best written pieces. I didn't do much research or delve very deep into the reasons I mentioned in passing about Gamestop being an awful corporation. It was legitimately just a personal attack on a store I still hold a grudge against, brought on by the pain and suffering my friends are going through because of the closure of store 261. It was personal, and I wrote it without giving the words much thought.

After all, it was just an angry little rant, and we're all entitled to one every so often, right?

So, I was worried that these hundred or so people had read these angry ramblings without understanding the passion behind them. I assumed that something like this would have only been read by the people who are being effected by it, and they would already know where I was coming from. They know the stories and the people behind them by personal experience, and they wouldn't need any explanation. I worried that I was going to come across as a poor writer to anyone unfamiliar with the situation. I kind of hoped the article would just go away, and I could go back to more thoughtful pieces, like the one I did recently about the situation in Ferguson.

And then came one of the biggest mistakes I'll ever make.

A friend on my Facebook page asked another friend to get it to the front page of reddit, because he was a frequent...I don't know what you call them, redditer I guess? Well, I laughed it off and told him to do it, half expecting him to not care and half worried that he would.

Well, he did. The little angry rant that I wrote for a certain group of people suddenly became a huge thing, and that hundred person viewership suddenly exploded to, as of this sentence, 14,688 people.

Creative Arts Amateur Hour

Thanks to some early press for The Creative Arts Emmys, we already knew who the winner of this past week was before the show aired. Our designers were creating a look for Heidi to wear at the awards ceremony!

Sean took this big win, getting a great deal of exposure and the right to claim he's dressed a well known super model. It was a nice comeback for him since he'd been in the bottom for the past couple of challenges.

Overall, I wasn't impressed with this past week. There were a few nice dresses but I didn't really like any of them. They were all pretty bland or just simply not to my liking.

There were also a lot of bad, unfinished, and rushed dresses. This partly came from Heidi not liking what she was seeing in the work room. She gave them an extra $100 each to go along with their original budget, and a quick trip back to Mood for extra or different materials.

If a designer chose not to return to Mood they could give their extra money to another designer. Sandhya played the game and started asking others for their money if they weren't going. It paid off and she got herself an extra $400+ to play with. This move irritated some of the other designers who were also starting over, but they could have done the same thing. They just chose not to.

I can't blame her for playing this tactic, though for all of her extra money she still was only safe this week.

Gamestop - You Will Never Find a More Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

This post has been a long time coming. I've put this off for years because I have good friends that work at Gamestop. Well, as of this week, that is no longer a problem.

And fuck you Gamestop, for eliminating that problem.

Full disclosure time - I once worked at Gamestop. That isn't a secret to a lot of people that know me. In fact, most people know me FROM Gamestop. Long before they knew me by name, or at least by my attachment to this site, I was simply the Gamestop Guy. I worked at the West Park Mall Gamestop in the fabulous city of Cape Girardeau for almost four and a half years as both an assistant manager and occasional manager.

I was good.

I was the kind of Gamestop employee that a corporation loves. I'm smart, funny, charismatic, I knew and loved the product, and I was naive enough to do whatever they asked of me to better their bottom line at the cost of my happiness. I was dedicated to Gamestop in a way I've never been able to duplicate anywhere else, because like most people I thought a job dealing with video games would be the cat's pajamas.

And to be fair, it was. For about two months. Then I began to see the seedy side of Gamestop that people post about online all the time. I saw the corporate greed and lack of respect for the video game culture. It was a culture I grew up with and respected, because video games are in my blood and some of my best memories are sharing moments with friends and family while staring at a TV and holding a six button controller. I hated this side of Gamestop, and I started a love/hate relationship with the company as a whole.

I felt abused, but my significant other would apologize and throw me a free game every once in a while to keep me by their side.

Guns Aren't a Problem - Excessive Force Is

This is going to be another one of those posts that come from the heart, so be prepared for all of the kinds of errors, unpopular opinions, and rhetoric that comes from an emotional person. I'm also writing it while being sick enough that I should be in bed.

I never was very good at slowing down.

This whole Micheal Brown thing still bothers me. When you look past the riots, the looting, the autopsies, the snakes in the grass looking for TV time, and all of the other things that go with this tragedy, you come back to the facts. The facts, as they've always been, are that officer Wilson shot Micheal Brown multiple times and killed him.

I know everyone is watching the networks and waiting anxiously to find out whether or not this killing was justified. It's become a game for some people. It's a drama ready for the prime time, somewhere between repeats of Law and Order and CSI. In a way, it kind of reminds me of the OJ Simpson trial. It's like Chris Rock said in one of his stand up specials on HBO - black people are too happy, and white people are too mad. Despite a lot of peoples best attempts to steer this tragedy away from a pool of racism, we still find ourselves knee deep in it.

It has always been my fear that the life of Micheal Brown would become secondary to the issues that may or may not be behind his death. His death, first and foremost, should be mourned and not exploited, as it has been since day one.

Still, I do understand the importance of preventing a tragedy like this from ever happening again, and I believe we must investigate and evolve as a human race.

Suit Up!

Winning look, ep. 4
This past week on Project Runway our designers were each given a classic suit from various fashion periods. The jacket and pants from these suits would serve as their inspiration and fabric to create a new high fashion look. The added twist was that last week's winner, Sandhya, got to assign everyone their suits.

So far I've been a pretty harsh critic when it comes to Sandhya, but I'll give her a little credit here. She took a difficult suit for herself that had a bright yellow jacket and loud purple pants.

As for everyone else, she claims to have given them suits that fit their tastes. No such luck for Hernan, who has been a dick to her since the team challenge.

I'm glad she screwed him over this time, and I agree with a point that she made. If you're a good designer it doesn't matter what your materials are, you'll make something good.

Hernan did not.

He bitched about not being inspired by the cream and brown suit. Well guess what? Several other designers weren't too thrilled with what they got either. Mitchell was uninspired by his hideous denim leisure suit, but he still muddled through and made something he liked. Hernan just kept blaming the materials, even after Tim tried to explain that he was trying to drape fabrics that weren't meant to be draped. It was a lack of skill, taste, and humility.

10 of My Favorite Final Fantasy Moments

With the announcement of Mechablogzilla's closure, I realized there was at least one article on the site that wasn't on BZ85, and I wanted to preserve it. Final Fantasy is in my top five game series of all time, and this particular list has a lot of moments on it that still make me feel what I used to know as "emotions." So, I plucked the article from that site and decided to repost it here.

For those of you who have already read it, thanks! Nothing new to see here, other than this explanation. Of course, feel free to relive all of those great Final Fantasy memories....

I present the original article here, kept mostly the same.

With the recent release of Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns, the relaunch of FFXIV, and the excitement for the upcoming FFXV, I decided to honor my once favorite series with a list of my favorite moments from the series.

I've been told that lists on a blog site are both creative and fresh.

Final Fantasy has a wealth of great moments. The storytelling in the game has always been phenomenal, even though the series has been lacking ever since the original Playstation era. The SNES to PSX transition was smooth as butter, leaving behind the solid but lackluster Nintendo entries and not yet corrupted by the anime infused PS2 era and beyond.

It is entirely my own personal opinion, but comparing a game like VI to XIII is like comparing apples to Spam. Both will feed you, but while one makes you healthier and keeps the dentist away, the other festers in your bowels until you're doing a mad dash for the bathroom. XIII-2 is what is left over after the trip.

Still, even the newer games have their moments. Unfortunately, they're probably not moments you'll see on this list because it's my list, and I'm the kind of guy that hugs a cartridge and puts a CD up for adoption.

On the black market.

And then I use that money to buy Little Caesers. That's the cheapest of all pizzas.

Mechablogzilla is Shutting Down

I originally created Mechablogzilla as a sister site to Blogzilla 1985 because I wanted a site to focus primarily on games. I have a lot of friends who skip the BZ85 posts that don't deal with the gaming industry, and this site was primarily for them. I had so many different writers posting so many different things on the main site that lots of posts got lost in the shuffle. Of course, those writers are all gone now, so....

With BZ85 as popular as it has ever been, I felt it was time to formally shut down Mechablogzilla. I just don't have time to keep both updated, and BZ85 is the primary site with access to all of the stories anyway.

So, it was a short ride, but I'd say it was still enjoyable. I tried some new design styles with the site, and while not all of them worked, it was a learning experience.

I remind you all that you can still read the latest and greatest ramblings of a mad duo on our Blogzilla 1985 site. I will leave Mechablogzilla up for another week, and then the site will go offline completely. Thank you all for reading, and I hope to keep seeing you guys at BZ85!

Farewell, Mechablogzilla!

Masquerade! Sailor Moon Crystal - Episode 4

We're now four episodes in on this new take of an old favorite.

So far it's been following the manga almost exactly, which hasn't been a bad thing.

I will say that I am glad a changing point has been made, but I'll get to that shortly.

Episode four covers one of my favorite chapters in the manga and original anime, Princess D's masquerade ball. At this point in the story the girls are aware that their main mission is to find their lost princess as well as the legendary silver crystal. Royalty is in town to show off an ancient gem that has never been revealed to the public's eye, so it's a good place to start their search.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! If you have yet to watch the newest episode please stop here and return after doing so. If spoilers do not bother you, or you've already gotten caught up to speed, then please continue.

WWE Summerslam - Cenation Crumbles and the WWE Universe is Without a Hero

Just got done watching Summerslam at Double G with "the gang" plus a few extra. I won't do an in depth review, but I will give some thoughts on the action that took place. Spoilers abound, in case you read this before watching the replay.

Overall, I'd put the PPV somewhere in the B- range. Some things came off better than I expected, while other sure things let me down. On to the thoughts!

The party started before we even turned the Network on. I got the call before heading in to the Grounds that old BZ85 contributors Louie Benson and TV's Phil would be attending the show with us. I should have got a picture of all of us together, but this legendary team up will just have to remain an excited whisper on the lips of my followers. Phil joked about writing for the site again, and we shared a laugh. And then I was disappointed in him.

I have to mention the Pizza-fest that was laid before our hungry eyes. Marco's, Papa John's, and Watami for Phil, who just had to be different, meant that we would be watching the PPV as true wrestling fans - unhealthy and loud.

While we watched the PPV on a set of TVs on one end of the TV row, a group of friends elected to play Smash Bros at the other end instead. As if Falco vs. Marth could ever measure up to Cena vs. Lesnar.

After a relatively entertaining pregame featuring Cesaro vs. RVD, in which part time legend Van Dam went over up and coming future Main Event mainstay Cesaro, we were ready for SUMMERSLAM!

But first, as a special treat for the kids and Asa, Hulk Hogan comes out to shill the network and got a $9.99 chant!

Oh, WWE Universe, you'll cheer anything!

Thoughts on the Circus in Ferguson & Media Mentality

I consider Blogzilla 1985 to be an entertainment site, first and foremost. Whether we succeed or fail, the overall goal is entertain any reader who comes here with comical banter and observations. Our scope of interest covers everything, including but not limited to video games, sports, TV, movies, toys, politics, and whatever crazy story we dig up from the internet.

No matter what we discuss, it is our goal to entertain you, and for those of you who are entertained I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

With that said, there are the occasional stories that make my blood boil, and when I post about them on the site it isn't for fun or for laughs. I am an entertainment writer by trade, but a journalist at heart. I may not post about it all the time, but you can usually find my nose buried in the newspaper or on news sites like CNN. I like to keep up with what's current, and it isn't always funny. I try to avoid writing about those things, because I've gotten really good at burying that anger and misery deep inside. I don't want to focus on the reminders of why I secretly despise existence.

I thought that the angriest story I would write this year would be the ridiculousness of WWE using Vladimir Putin as a character in their story lines. I thought the saddest story I would write this year would be the passing of Harold Ramis, who was a Hollywood visionary and one of the biggest influences on my creative side.

I wish I could have been right on either accounts.

For those of you keeping up with the news, I probably don't have to tell you about the insanity in Ferguson, MO. But, for those of you who keep your head buried in the ground and concern yourselves more with booze and partying than the world around you, allow me to explain the facts as they are known right now.

Facts. Not speculation or hearsay. No matter what your heart tells you, there is a difference.

On August 9th, 2014, an unarmed eighteen year old named Michael Brown was shot multiple times and killed by officer Darren Wilson.

P.T. Should Stand for Permanently Traumatized

Let's just skip past the usual witty banter, so I can present you with a question about the new P.T. game on the PS4 store.

HAVE YOU PLAYED THIS FUCKING THING?! UUUGGGGGGGH!

This is not going to be one of those well written articles you all know and expect from such a highly regarded journalist such as myself. No, I want to break character for a bit and just have some real talk with you guys about my experiences with this game.

As some of you know, I belong to a certain secret society. I don't believe I gotta mention it's name...but if you must know, it's Gaming Grounds in Southeast Missouri. During my time there this morning, a certain man, who we'll call John M., came in and told me about a new game called P.T. that had just been released on the PSN store.

Thanks to the lightning fast internet of CHARTER BUSINESS YEAAAAAAAH, we had the game downloaded in minutes. John had played the teaser the night before, which was a Godsend because this game is as confusing as any David Lynch movie. Even the one where the guy from Beretta calls himself at Bill Pullman's house. Patricia Arquette was there, too!

I'm losing track here thinking about Patricia. I do that a LOT. Anyway, John guided us through what I can only describe as the most terrifying game I've ever played in my life.

There were creepy radio messages, aborted fetuses, ghost staring through windows, a ghastly woman chasing me through corridors, eye paintings looking around wildly, screams, crying, and more terrors than any Micheal Bay movie could ever scare up.

Heh heh heh.

One More Good Laugh

It's funny how you can be scrolling through Facebook and then BAM, you're smacked in the face with something that you need to confirm, even though you know it is probably true.

On Monday, Robin Williams died at the age of 63.

It's sad, and a little strange to think that he will only exist on film now. He'll never really be gone, since we can always watch the movies and TV shows again, but it will never really be the same. I'll always feel a little sad even with the laughs, because everything now will just be memories. To be honest, this is one of the Hollywood deaths that I've always dreaded. I grew up laughing at his banter and antics, and I always knew if he was a part of something I'd get a good laugh.

Robin Williams was one of the greats, and there isn't anyone who can fill his shoes.

But I don't want to dwell on the sadness. His family wants him to be remembered for his work and the laughter that he spread to the world. So I'd like to take a little trip down memory lane with a few of my personal favorites from his filmography.

Fashions of Future Past

Winning Look
episode 3, season 13
This past week on Project Runway our designers had to do a little time traveling. They were told to create a look that will be worn twenty years in the future, but it had to be inspired by fashion from twenty years ago. So their imaginations had to translate 1994 to 2034.

In 1994 I was eleven years old. I was in fifth grade and getting ready for that transition into middle school. I think the closest thing to fashion for me was drawing new clothes for my paper dolls, but I'm pretty sure I was just obsessed with horses at that point in my life.

I remember a lot of spandex, neon colors and floral prints. It was kinda scary, really.

Back to the topic at hand.

Our designers got to make their first trip to Mood this season. They were very excited to finally pick their own fabrics rather than being given random assortments of stuff.

This time there were a lot more outfits that wowed me, but many of them gave the impression of a very bleak future. I don't expect it to be all peaches and cream, but having a positive outlook can't hurt right?

Right?

MOVIE REVIEW - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I wanted to lighten the mood, which is an unenviable task considering everything that has happened in the past few days. And I'm not just talking about the tragedy of Robin Williams death, but also the horrible things happening in Ferguson, MO. It's just a few hours away from me, and I was actually near there over the weekend and completely unaware of what happened. Add to that the sad news that Lauren Bacall passed away today, and you've got more than enough reason to drink yourself to sleep.

Still, it is okay to laugh every once in a while in the face of overwhelming darkness, and what screams fun more than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Well, technically, Ninja Turtles 1, 2, and TMNT were all way more fun. But the newest Turtles film still ninja beats the crap out of that awful Ninja Turtles 3 movie that was absolutely NOT called Turtles in Time. Yes, they did go through time, but no, it wasn't the name of the goddamn movie! Get your shit straight, fanboy.

Anyway.

You might recall in a previously bold article that I proclaimed the new Turtles movie would probably be awesome because they're still the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Micheal Bay has a way of making fun blockbusters. Some people doubted my sincerity, while others refuse to believe the new film would ever stack up against a rich history of ninja action that we already treasure.

Did the new film make me scream COWABUNGAAAAA? Or did it strike hard and fade away without a trace?

Robin Williams Dead at 63

My lovely fiancee and I took a week off from the site to celebrate my birthday with a fabulous trip to Saint Louis. I knew I wanted to update the site when I got up this morning, but I was still recovering from all the hard partying and had nothing particular in mind.

And then around six in the evening I got a call from a friend who told me that Robin Williams had died.

Robin Williams.

I have a lot of fond memories of Robin Williams. A lot of people assume I wasn't a big fan of him, and it's true that I wasn't a huge fan of his stand up. I did love him as an actor, and a lot of his performances were top notch. There is no doubt that he is one of the greatest and most beloved actors of our time.

My first Robin Williams movie that I can remember was Mrs. Doubtfire, and it's still one of my favorites. The whole "famous actor dresses as a woman" shtick is so cliche now, but he made it work. Another friend of mine mentioned Death to Smoochy as a great Williams film, and I'm inclined to agree. It was a dark comedy that never got the credit it deserved. Williams also excelled in everything from his creepy roles in Insomnia and One Hour Photo to television hits like The Crazy Ones and Law & Order SVU.

Much like James Garner, there is also a long list of absolute classic films that were driven by Robin Williams.

He was found dead in his home at the age of 63, from what appears to be suicide. I've been to that edge before, where you want to take that leap and end it all, but I've never been able to go through with it. I struggle with depression every day of my life, and although I do a good job of hiding it from the people I care about, it is always there. I have great sympathy for Robin and his family, and wish them all peace in this time of tragedy.

His wife Susan released a statement earlier today, and I'd like to leave you all with her words.

This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

Fandango Fabulous

The Winning Dress
Prepare for trouble, and let's make it double.

Episode two pairs up two of what seems to be the designers' least favorite types of challenges - teams and unconventional materials.

Personally, I love the unconventional challenges.

This time the movie experience was to serve as their muse and source of materials. Lots of fun stuff, from actual film reels and VHS tapes to concession items like straws and 3D glasses, were at hand for the designers to gather and work their magic with.

Their mission, to create three cohesive looks that could be in a collection together.

Easy right?

Never. It only takes one stubborn member in a group to bring things to a crashing halt. Many of the teams worked well together and pulled off the task at hand, but not all of them could coexist.

The worst group of all was Sandhya, Hernan, and Carrie. Sandhya won the first challenge and had the blessing of immunity, yet still insisted on doing whatever she wanted and not really worrying about the groups synergy.

Hernan wasn't much better and kept pushing his own ideas on the other two, while not budging and basically talking down to the girls.

I'm not really one to get up in arms about feminism, but I got real sick of him calling them 'Baby' and such.

WWE 2K15 Looks Fantastic...Literally! Now with Hulk Hogan Collectors Edition Info!

I was getting worried about the new WWE 2K15 game since it's coming out in about two months and we hadn't even seen a screen shot of it yet. It's not unusual to keep a game under wraps and build anticipation for that big epic reveal, but this was just cutting it too close for my tastes. To me, it was similar to when they don't screen movies for critics. You can almost bet your life savings that that movie is going to suck. Not that I even read movie reviews anymore, after Roger Ebert died...

Regardless, my hype level went through the roof today after my friend Louie sent me a picture that John Cena tweeted from the WWE 2K15 game.

Holy. Crap.

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I present it below along with a side by side comparison to how Cena's in game model looked in WWE 2K14. The differences are astronomical. My fiancee actually thought the new Cena model was a legitimate photograph of the grappler. She wondered why he looked like a gorilla, which I assured her was accurate.

It's not even a challenge. Finally, Cena is a cartoon character in personality only!

Let that eye candy rot your mental tooth for a second and we'll move on.

Kate Upton is Birthday Magic!

In celebration of Blogzilla 1985's visionary leader and his 32nd birthday, he has decided to pick out 32 of his favorite Kate Upton pictures and present them here for you.

Wow, 32 years old? It's amazing how the world can make a guy that's just kind of old feel like Larry King.

I started this website in 2009 just so I could bitch about a couple of MMORPG's that I was playing at the time. If you look back at the history of the site, you'll see a lot of months brimming with content, and even more with one sad little post just to remind you that we're still alive. This site has been both a blessing and a curse for me, and as I turn 32 on Sunday, I wonder what the future holds for it.

I was born on August 3rd, 1982, in a little town called Cairo, Illinois. It's an awful place now. It's a place so bad that when the terrible floods were upon us a few years ago, there was serious discussion about whether it would be best to flood Cairo or farm lands. Cairo survived, although you can hardly call the people who live there survivors.

My parents are Willard and Linda Young, whom are both deceased as of earlier this year. I lost my mother seven years ago to complications from heart surgery, and my father passed away a few months ago after a short but miserable fight with cancer. Any and all other family that I've known I have no contact with by choice, save for a possible cousin living the dream out in California.

Just keep reading, the Kate Upton pictures are coming. I gotta get sentimental first.

3. 2. 1. Let's Jam. - 10 Favorite Cowboy Bebop Episodes

Cowboy Bebop is the kind of anime that you can suggest to just about anyone, and nine times out of ten they will enjoy it.

When it first aired on Adult Swim back in 2001, during the good old days when the block didn't start until eleven or midnight, it was a big change from most of the anime I watched.

I had been living on the Toonami line up, which was also much better back before it became the DBZ show, and whatever bad dubs Fox was playing on Saturday mornings. Bebop just had a more serious tone and a grittier feel to it, although it was still occasionally silly in it's own right.

I remember it being a big deal in our anime circle at college. Everyone was watching it. We were all pissed that 9/11 caused us to miss out on a episode during its first run cause it was "too soon" to have the Teddy Bear Bomber blowing up twin towers on our TVs. We even held a mini funeral at the end of  the series when a favorite character passed on.

It was a great show. Even better, it's one that has great replay value.

Not too long ago I revisited the series while gathering some AMV fodder. Normally when I do this I just have the show running in the background and work on other things while it's being ripped from my DVDs to my editing program. With Bebop I found myself actually watching it again from beginning to end.

So , after taking a look back, I'd like share with you my ten favorite Cowboy Bebop episodes. This list is based purely on how much I enjoyed each episode, so I'm sure not everyone will agree with my choices.
