Fashion Finals

Season sixteen of Project Runway is drawing to a close, and all that remains is fashion week. The judges have made their calls, and sadly my personal favorite designer will not be showing her collection.

We made it so far.

I continued to root for her through the ups and downs. I even cried along with her.

I love Kenya Freeman's style, personality, and ability. It hurt to watch her be eliminated, but I agree completely with the judges words of encouragement to her. We have not seen the last of her. Yes her collection will not walk the New York Fashion Week runway, but she has been exposed to the hungry eyes of the fashion world. Someone out there will give her another chance to shine and show what she can do.

Plus there's always hope to see her on a new season of All Stars!

Now I'm stuck with a new problem. Who do I want to win this season? I had moved all my chips onto Kenya and now I'm broke.

First lets take a quick look at who will be showing their collections.

So You Want to Be a Meatball Head? Odangos Made Easy!

You're a Sailor Moon fan, and you've always wanted to wear your hair like Usagi's but you're not quite sure how to make it work. There are several ways to pull it off actually, but the following tutorial is the easiest way I know.

I will say to start off that the longer and thicker your hair is the better the results will be. To wear odangos you're hair should reach mid way down your shoulder blades at a minimum. It is possible to do with shoulder length hair, but it doesn't leave much of a pony tail. When I use to wear my hair like this regularly, it was grown out well past my waist.

Items you will need:
  • a hair brush
  • a comb
  • 4 hair bands (size will depend on the thickness of your hair. Thin or normal hair i suggest using small bands. For thick hair use medium or full sized bands.) If you can match the color of the bands to your hair or use clear ones.
  • a mirror so you can see what you're doing (unless you're doing someone's hair, then it'd just so they can see ^_^ )

Hearts of the Art

Animation is one of my passions, even if I'm not currently doing anything with my degree in it. Needless to say it's all around us in commercials, TV shows, movies and web videos. It touches young and old in all corners of the world. But how often do you really think about who's making Hank Hill say "I sell propane and propane accessories."?

That's what I'm here for. To help toss out a few names of the people who have made the genre of animation what it is today. There's a long list of animation greats out there. I'll be bringing to light some names you may already know and several you may not. Heck some of them I only know about because of my beginning animation class back in the day. One thing will be for sure the men and women I choose to cover will have something in common.

They are at the heart of their art.

It touches young and old in all corners of the world. But how often do you really think about who's making Bender tell people to bite his shiny metal ass?

That's what I'm here for. To help toss out a few names of the people who have made the genre of animation what it is today. This is where Shannon will be rolling his eyes and saying "great she's gonna go on about Tim Burton and John Lasseter again." Which I will, but not right away. I don't want to be that predictable right from the get go. Besides there's a long list of animation greats out there. I'll be bringing to light some names you may already know and several you may not. Heck some of them I only know about because of my beginning animation class back in the day. One thing will be for sure the men and women I choose to cover will have something in common.
