Fifteen on Friday

We at Team BZ85 know a thing or two about being attractive gamers. But every once in a while you meet someone who makes you rethink what your mom told you about being the most handsome person in school.

In this weeks Fifteen on Friday we talk to one of those people - the lovely and nerdy IDiivl. But we call her Christine. Cause we're close like that.

Hot! A custom 360 controller!
Being a glamor model born half Japanese and half Czech would be enough to turn a few heads, but our heroine is much more than that. She's everything you dreamed about as a lonely teenager playing Halo, for some reason, and wishing you could meet an uber cool chick to not only put up with your lousy taste in gaming, but to maybe pick up a controller and jam alongside you.

Yes, she's the kind of girl who could probably kick your ass in games one day, and shoot a nude set in some foreign land the next.

We at Blogzilla 1985 are proud that Christine is our first interview. And also our newest best friend.

It's Fifteen on Friday - fifteen questions, one interesting person.

What inspired you to become a model?

This is going to sound so geeky, but I decided to become a model because I wanted to create my own Dungeons and Dragons character portrait. I was so tired of looking on the internet for images that I felt like I could model for, so ... one day, I tried.

I never got that Dungeons and Dragons portrait done, but... I've done a lot of other awesome stuff! :)

Nude modeling has always been a controversial form of art. What do you say to the naysayers who disregard it as merely porn?

That whether it is plain nudity or porn, the people consenting to its creation are doing it by their own choice. If others don't approve of it, they don't need to look at it, and it is appreciated if they keep their naysaying to themselves so that those of us who lead our lives can continue it without the conflict.

What has been your favorite shoot so far?
Too many to name, honestly... One of my more recent fun shoots was with Elina Khatchaturyan. We went out to this forest area in Ohio and shot some real high fashion works. I don't often get a chance to work with two assistants and a makeup/hair artist, so I felt pampered. It was wonderful.

Here's a picture from the shoot if you want to see it!

You mention on your website that your work has turned you into a traveler. What's your favorite place that you've been?

Florence, Italy has been one of my favorite places to visit. Love the architecture there.

What's beyond modeling for Christine? Any other aspirations in life you're working towards?

I am working towards a bachelor's degree. Nothing too special otherwise. I'm kind of going with the flow for now.

One of the things that drew us to you initially, aside from everything visual about you, is your affinity for video games. Just how much of a gamer are you?

Impressed, Matthew Sinn?

I can sit here and talk about games all day, but besides claiming beating Dark Souls twice, I'll let my collection do the talking...

Gaming still carries the stereotype of fat nerdy guys living in their basements playing Starcraft instead of getting a date. As someone who is neither fat nor a guy (the nerdy part may be true), how would you respond to people who thumb their nose at the gaming culture?

I'd most likely casually jest about whatever hobby they may be into. Are they into sports? Oh, so they like watching big sweaty men grappling each other, do they now? I'd add after that everyone has their hobbies, and as long as it doesn't interfere with a person's day to day life or harm anyone else, it really should be their own choice on what they want it to be.

What was the first game that made you realize you were a gamer and not just a girl who liked to play games?

Neverwinter Nights really, really pulled me into the gaming scene. After playing on multiple persistent worlds as a kid, I moved on to other RPGs, and then finally into shooters (Halo, Gears of War, etc) and beyond.

Are you getting the Wii-U and do you think Nintendo still cares about the “hardcore” gamer?

After how the Wii turned out, Nintendo lost me as a fan. They had such a bizarre list of games coming out tailored mostly to a younger audience, and I just passed them one by one as my Wii gathered dust. Funny enough, though, I think now they are trying to get the hardcore gamers back with the Wii U. Have you seen the upcoming titles? They're apparently going to bring Assassin's Creed 3, Alien: Colonial Marines, CoD Black Ops 2, and more to the Wii U. However, considering the controllers, I doubt they're going to have much success bringing hardcore to the console... Nintendo can tout "better graphics" all they want. Just wait until the new Sony and Microsoft monsters are released.

You say you're a fan of cosplay. Been to any anime conventions, and how do you deal with the fanboys?

I'm a fan of cosplay... I've unfortunately never participated in it :( I hope to within the year, though! Once I can don some decent cosplay, I'll do my very first anime convention. Looking forward to moving to LA this February and attending the real good ones out there :D

I think it's law that doing an interview with a pretty girl requires questioning them on their love life. I'll try to keep it casual though and ask you what you look for in someone.

When it comes to my men-creatures, I like a good sense of humor, a kind heart, and loyalty. You don't have to be physically sexy to attract me. As long as I know I can count on you to be by my side and make me laugh, I'm more than happy :)

Is gaming important in your relationship?

It's preferred, but I've dated non-gamers in the past... can't do non-nerds, though. They have to get the lifestyle and the humor, you know? I refuse to make some kind of game or nerd related joke and have my boyfriend stare at me blankly in confusion.

Here at Blogzilla we pride ourselves on being very diverse with our music. What kind of music do you listen to and who is your favorite artist?

I tend to listen to various metals and rocks. I think my favorite artist would be Nine Inch Nails. The song Closer is just... swoon.

What about movies? Favorite genre and movie?

Comedy for movies. Dale and Tucker vs. Evil for my best of them all. Who can't love Alan Tudyk? He's been my #1 since Firefly :)

Free shot, give us any parting comments you'd like to make.

Only that I appreciate everyone taking the time to read this and to allow me to be included. It's always really cool to have a chance to share the love.

And if you would like to view more of the lovely Christine Adams, including the stuff we just can't show you here because we're a (cough) family site, we strongly urge you to check out her personal website here

And while you're at it, watch her on DeviantArt here, stalk her on Facebook here, and follow her on Twitter right 'chere.

Oh, also, you can find her on Model Mayhem as well.

PS - You can also find her in our dreams. But we don't have a link for that.
